Question Unrecognized Icon on Health Bar

I have been playing Prophecies for about 8 months, and Nightfall since the day it came out. This week, I bought Factions.

While zooming around in Cantha, I noticed that sometimes in my health bar and that of my foes, a new icon appeared. It would appear to the left of the Hex and/or Enchantment indicator arrows that normally appear in the health bar. I have no idea what this icon indicates!

It has the appearance of a sword with green glow around it - similar to the way the Adrenaline icon is a fist with red glow around it.

I then noticed the same thing while fighting a foe back in Kourna/Elona (I forget exactly where).

I can't recall for sure whether I was fighting Ritualists every time it appeared, but it seems to me that might be the case. My character is an E/x from Prophecies.

Can someone tell me what this icon indicates?

Yeah, that's likely it. If you have a Hench Ritualist in your party, they likely cast a Weapon Spell on you. Next time you see that icon on your health bar, look at your weapon. If it's changed it appearance as well, then that's what it is.

basically like an enchantment, but you can only have one weapon spell on you at any time (a new one replaces whatever you had already) and they cannot be removed by anything except another weapon spell. some really cool ones too

Although it would be handy for monks to be able to see it, and pre-prot you.

Putting your mouse pointer over it doesn't give you a pop up box?

No, since when did putting your mouse over somebody's health bar display anything?

Putting your mouse over icons ingame usually does. It's called a UI convention. It appears that ANet deviated from that convention if this is an exception.

Putting your mouse over icons in the health bar doesn't. Those icons - the green up arrow for enchantments, the pink down arrow for hexes, the gray down arrow for conditions, the weapon spell icon, dagger skill chain icons - don't display anything if you put your cursor over them.

When it is an enchant it is Yellow on the health bar and when it is a conditions it is Brown. You got the hexes one right as it is Pink.
